Wraparound Assistant

  • Contract: Part-Time, Term-Time Only
  • Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:15-9:00 am and 3:00-6:00 pm)
  • Salary: £24,954 to £26,625 per annum (pro-rata)


About the Role:

A dedicated and enthusiastic Wraparound Assistant is sought to join the team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of the Wraparound Care, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children before and after school. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising a range of activities, providing high-quality care, and fostering positive relationships with children and parents.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of the breakfast and after-school club, ensuring all children are engaged in fun and educational activities.
  • Supervise and support children during breakfast and after-school sessions, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Help set up and tidy away equipment and resources, maintaining a clean and organised environment.
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive and accessible, meeting the diverse needs of all children.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a similar setting is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or playwork is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to ensure the safety of all children.
