Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
- Offer 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism, assisting with personal care and classroom engagement.
- Implement individualised strategies to encourage learning and positive behaviour.
- Work alongside teachers and staff to ensure the child feels supported and included in activities.
- Use creativity and adaptability to engage the child in their learning journey.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment to support emotional and social development.
What We're Looking For in a Learning Support Assistant:
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly with SEN or Autism.
- Confidence in managing behaviour challenges with a calm and proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build a positive rapport with children.
- A patient and empathetic nature, with the resilience to handle dynamic situations.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
