Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay Rate: £13.69 to £15.83 per hour

Reeson Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a lovely Year 2 pupil with ASD and mild learning needs in a vibrant two-form entry primary school in the WA3 area of Wigan. This Teaching Assistant role is to begin as soon as possible and is full-time, long-term.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Work as a Teaching Assistant in class, providing 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD.

  • Support with emotional regulation, classroom routines, and academic tasks.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies.

  • Provide support that promotes independence, confidence, and engagement.

  • Be a proactive and encouraging Teaching Assistant presence in the classroom.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Be a patient, consistent, and dedicated Teaching Assistant.

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND (especially ASD).

  • Understand how to implement structured support within a Year 2 setting.

  • Work well as part of a team and be adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.

  • Have a strong desire to make a positive impact as a Teaching Assistant.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • References covering the last 2-3 years.

  • A strong sense of commitment to your role as a Teaching Assistant.
