An Ofsted Outstanding primary school in Tottenham, Haringey is urgently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a non-verbal pupil with challenging behaviour. This role requires someone confident, patient, and experienced in supporting children with complex needs.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 2:1 support alongside another Teaching Assistant for a non-verbal pupil with challenging behaviour.
- Offer tailored support both in and outside the classroom to manage behaviour and engagement.
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to implement personalised strategies.
- Assist in creating a safe and supportive environment to promote learning and social development.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with SEN or challenging behaviour.
- Psychology graduates are encouraged to apply - ideal for those looking to gain practical experience.
- Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and patient approach.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
