Teaching Assistant - OPAL & Outdoor Learning - Primary School in Tottenham

A primary school in Tottenham is seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a love for nature, outdoor play, and learning. This unique role focuses on OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), providing PPA cover across the whole school, leading whole-class sessions. The school is looking for a confident and proactive individual who holds a degree, has previous TA experience, and is eager to inspire children through creative and outdoor learning opportunities.



Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Lead whole-class PPA cover sessions across all year groups, incorporating OPAL principles.
  • Engage children in outdoor play and learning activities that encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver stimulating outdoor experiences.
  • Promote a love for nature and active play, fostering curiosity and resilience in pupils.
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive, safe, and aligned with the school's learning objectives.


Requirements for the Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A degree in a relevant subject (Education, Psychology, Environmental Studies, or similar).
  • Prior Teaching Assistant experience, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • A strong passion for outdoor learning, nature, and child development.
  • Confidence in managing whole classes and engaging pupils in creative learning experiences.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
