SEN Teaching Assistant - Behavioural Needs and Autism Support

This full-time role focuses on supporting pupils with behavioural needs and Autism, including some non-verbal children, aged Reception to Year 3.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support to children with behavioural needs and Autism in a dedicated room.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement strategies for engagement and learning.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to promote emotional regulation and confidence.
- Assist non-verbal children using alternative communication methods.
- Adapt activities creatively to meet the diverse needs of the group.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
What We're Looking For in a Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN pupils.
- Knowledge of Autism, behavioural strategies, and alternative communication techniques.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive outcomes.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to working with children.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
