Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Autism Support Role in Haringey

A primary school in Haringey is looking for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a young boy with Autism. This role, starting in January 2025, requires someone who is patient, bold, and capable of managing behavioural challenges while fostering a supportive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism, helping him navigate daily challenges.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure a tailored approach to learning.
  • Use your skills as a Teaching Assistant to promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Build a nurturing relationship with the pupil to encourage engagement and growth.


Teaching Assistant - The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant with children who have Autism or additional needs.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere.
  • A proactive, empathetic individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
