Teaching Assistant - Long-Term Role Across Reception and Year 5
An inclusive primary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team starting January 2025. This long-term position involves working across two key stages, providing essential support in both a Reception class in the mornings and a Year 5 class in the afternoons, focusing on phonics and reading.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support the Reception class in the mornings, helping young learners settle and thrive in their environment.
- Take on an active role as a Teaching Assistant in the Year 5 class during the afternoons, with a particular focus on phonics and reading development.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored learning activities and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Ensure every child receives the support they need to meet their individual learning goals.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in EYFS and KS2, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge or experience with phonics will be a significant advantage in supporting Year 5 pupils.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to adapt as a Teaching Assistant across different year groups.
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one through Reeson Education.
