A primary school in Haringey borough is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged boy with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role requires a Teaching Assistant with prior experience managing challenging behaviours, including tendencies to spit and hit, to provide a calm, patient, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Work 1:1 with a child in Reception, providing tailored support to meet his individual needs.
- Employ strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviours and encourage positive interactions.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure consistency in support.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for the child.
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with Autism and managing challenging behaviours.
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to learning and behaviour management.
