Position: Teaching Assistant

We are excited to present a wonderful opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Kennington with a dedicated SEN unit. This role involves working with a mixed-age group class of Year 1 to Year 4 students in an ASC base. The school is looking to trial a few TAs during the first week back in September 2024.
Role Overview:
- Supportive Environment: As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support in a mixed-age class, helping to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Experience Required: It is highly desirable for candidates to have experience working with ASC to thrive in this role.
Key Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their academic and social development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Engage with students in various activities, both in the classroom and during recreational times.
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASC is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
