Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Team: Integrated Services
Band & Salary: Band 6 (£40,350-£47,000) - Depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week
Role Purpose:
To enhance outcomes for children and young people by reducing speech, language, and communication barriers through expert speech and language therapy within universal, targeted, and specialist tiers of support.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice:
- Use a range of speech and language therapy methods for autism, learning disabilities, and special educational needs.
- Provide advice and interventions across universal, targeted, and specialist support tiers.
- Develop and implement group/individual intervention programs.
- Write and ensure fidelity in therapy programs delivered by others.
- Evaluate and contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Collaboration & Training:
- Train and support teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Offer professional advice in multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote integration of expertise across disciplines for effective assessments and interventions.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on professional standards and developments.
- Maintain HCPC registration and adhere to RCSLT guidelines.
- Participate in supervision and professional development activities.
Service Delivery:
- Balance workload, case management, and team responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate, professional-standard records.
- Evaluate and improve team performance and service delivery.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Communicate clearly and culturally appropriately with students, staff, and families.
- Apply problem-solving skills and person-centered approaches.
- Demonstrate flexibility, empathy, and professionalism in high-pressure environments.

- Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards.
- Commit to safeguarding, diversity, and promoting children's welfare.
- Represent the charity's vision and values in daily work.
