Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- 1:1 and Group Support: Provide targeted support for pupils as an SEN Teaching Assistant in the SEN Unit, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Encourage Development: Promote positive behaviour, social skills, and independence through engaging activities.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster Inclusion: Help pupils transition smoothly between the SEN Unit and the wider school environment as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Personal Care Support: Assist with personal care routines as needed, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
What We're Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience in SEN: Prior experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in an SEN Unit or similar setting.
- Patience and Empathy: A calm and understanding approach to supporting children with diverse challenges.
