About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working one-on-one with a KS1 pupil with autism, providing them with the consistency, structure, and encouragement they need to succeed. Your Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

What We're Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience with Autism: Previous experience working 1:1 with children with autism or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Patient and Empathetic: A calm and understanding approach to supporting young learners, especially those who may need extra patience and encouragement.
  • Adaptability: The ability to tailor support methods to meet the unique needs of the pupil and to adapt throughout the school day as required.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support for the child.
