Primary SEN Teacher Needed - SEN Unit - Lambeth - Autism Specialism

Position: Primary SEN Teacher
Location: SEN Unit, Lambeth
Start Date: ASAP
Student Age Group: Mixed Year 2 to Year 4
Class Size: 10 students
Support Staff: 3-4 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) per class

A Primary SEN Teacher is urgently needed for an SEN Unit in Lambeth, specialising in Autism. The class consists of 10 students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), supported by 3-4 LSAs. The ideal SEN Teacher will have previous experience working with children with Autism, be confident, and have the ability to immediately contribute to a structured, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Primary SEN Teacher:

  • Lead a class of 10 students with Autism, delivering tailored lessons that meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with LSAs to provide holistic support, focusing on both academic and behavioural development.
  • Utilise strong behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Show in-depth knowledge of Autism, including adapting teaching techniques to cater to various levels of ability and understanding.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the students.
