The Role: The school is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team. The successful candidate will specialise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other SEN needs. This role requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in SEN education and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of Key Stage 2 students with ASD and other SEN.
  • Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, independence, and a love for learning.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant SEN qualification or training.
  • Experience teaching students with ASD and other SEN in a primary school setting.
  • A thorough understanding of SEN best practices and the National Curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
