SEN Teacher:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN teacher to join our supportive team in Bromley on a one-year maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment for Key Stage 2 students with a range of needs, including mild to complex needs, with a particular focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This exciting SEN school is located in Bromley and caters to students that have mild to complex needs and all have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Students from Bromley and the surrounding Borough of Lewisham join this school, and it has a real community feel. The facilities are new and they have adapted their classes to become personalised through pathways and a learning map for each individual student.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons for Key Stage 2 students with ASD and other special educational needs.
  • Lead a team of teaching assistants to ensure effective support for students and maximise their learning outcomes.
  • Implement EHCPs to support student progress.
  • Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports student's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with parents, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students with different learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reporting to the SENCo and parents.

SEN Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with students with ASD and other special educational needs, particularly within Key Stage 2.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to differentiate learning.
  • Experience leading a team of teaching assistants to enhance student learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

This role is a one-year maternity cover, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of students during this important period.
