The Post 16 Teacher Job

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Post 16 Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young adults and students? We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, Secondary Teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 4-19 in Lambeth specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). You will specifically be working with students of a secondary or young adult age working with a specialised curriculum to enhance the students engagement in life skills. In this rewarding Post 16 Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a Post 16 Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that focus on and develop the students independence and understanding of being able to access the local community and lifeskills.

The School

The successful Food Technology applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Lambeth for children with sever learning difficulties. This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 4- 19 years, who have a diagnosis of ASD and an EHCP. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs. The curriculum allows the students to gain independence and life skills and is tailored for preparing for adulthood through education and employment, healthy lifestyles, friendships and independent living.

Post 16 Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised lesson plans for students in these classes

- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the Post 16 teacher in the classroom.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.

- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.

- work with local organisations to develop and integrate students into the local community.

Post 16 Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD Students
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
