We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Lambeth to work with young people with profound multi learning disabilities. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. - Pupils from across Lambeth who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them.
- Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
- You will be working with skilled Teachers and other PMLD Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment
The PMLD Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Work with class teachers to raise the learning of pupils
- Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
- Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons that promote play-based learning
- Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
- Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
- Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
- Support with personal care when needed with other staff members
