We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Mentor to join our team at a reputable Secondary SEN School in Brent. This school has been rated as "Ofsted Good" and is renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional support and education to children with ASC.

As a Pastoral Mentor, you will play a vital role in the holistic development and well-being of our students. Your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing emotional support and guidance to students with ASC, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Developing and implementing individualized pastoral care plans to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a tailored support network for students.
  • Assisting students in developing social skills, self-confidence, and resilience.
  • Monitoring and addressing any behavioral issues, providing appropriate interventions and strategies.
  • Promoting positive behavior and reinforcing the school's values and ethos.
  • Offering mentoring and counseling to students, providing a listening ear and offering guidance when needed.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure effective integration and support for students with ASC

This is a full-time position starting from September, working through Reeson Education Agency. We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, ongoing professional development opportunities, and competitive remuneration.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASC or special educational needs.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • The ability to adapt and respond effectively to challenging situations, ensuring the well-being and safety of our students.
