Nursery Nurse - 1:1 Support in Reception Class - Nursery Nurse
A welcoming primary school in the Haringey Borough of North London is seeking a dedicated Nursery Nurse to work 1:1 with a young boy in their Reception class. The pupil requires additional support to manage high emotional needs, and this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact in an inclusive and nurturing school environment.
This Nursery Nurse role is ideal for someone with EYFS experience, although this is not essential. The school is looking for a compassionate and proactive individual who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities as a Nursery Nurse:
- Provide focused 1:1 support for a Reception pupil with high emotional needs, helping to foster emotional regulation and build self-esteem.
- Assist with implementing strategies to engage the pupil in classroom and social activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure consistent support for the child's development.
- Contribute to the overall Reception classroom environment, promoting an inclusive and engaging atmosphere.
- Adapt to the needs of the child and use initiative to overcome challenges as they arise.
Ideal Candidate for the Nursery Nurse Role:
- EYFS experience is desirable but not mandatory-passion and dedication are key!
- Previous experience supporting children with high emotional needs, Autism, or additional challenges is highly advantageous.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach, with the ability to build trust and connection with young learners.
- Confident, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be open to processing one through Reeson Education.
