Learning Support Assistant Needed for Primary School in Lambeth - Specialising in Autism Support

Reeson Education is excited to be recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated primary school in Lambeth. This role is focused on providing essential support to students with Autism (ASC), ensuring they receive the individualised attention needed to succeed in a mainstream educational environment.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day support of students with ASC within the classroom. Your role will involve working closely with the teaching staff and the SENCO to create a nurturing and structured environment that enables each child to engage fully with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalised Support: Offer one-on-one and small group assistance to students with Autism, tailoring your approach to fit their unique needs.
  • Behavioural Guidance: Use positive behaviour management techniques to help students with ASC navigate the school day successfully.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with teachers and the SENCO to implement and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's requirements.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor and record the progress of students with ASC, adjusting support strategies as necessary and communicating effectively with the teaching team.
  • Inclusive Learning: Contribute to a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and responsive to the needs of students with Autism.
