The KS1 Teacher Job

Are you looking to work at an OFSTED outstanding school with young pupile? We are seeking a KS1 Teacher specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe learning difficulties in Lambeth.

In this rewarding KS1 Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom and will develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy and numeracy skills, in which you will remain with the same class, providing consistency for yourself and the students.

The successful KS1 Teacher applicant would be joining a fantastic community based school in the heart of Lambeth for children with ASD/SLD The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs.

KS1 Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the secondary teacher in the classroom
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school

- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom

KS1 Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of SLD or working with young pupils with a diagnosis of ASD.
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
