Role: Forest School Assistant
Pay: Depending Upon Experience
Reeson Education are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Forest School Assistant to join one of our client mainstream primary school based in Haringey. As a Forest School Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our outdoor learning provision and promoting our school's values of inclusivity, creativity, and sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Forest School Leader in planning and delivering engaging and educational Forest School sessions for children aged 4-11, both on-site and off-site
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment in the forest, ensuring that children are supervised at all times and that risk assessments are carried out
- Work closely with the Forest School Leader and other staff members to integrate outdoor learning into the wider curriculum and promote cross-curricular learning opportunities
- Support the Forest School Leader in maintaining and developing the Forest School site, ensuring that it is well-maintained and that equipment and resources are stored safely and securely
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and stay up-to-date with best practices in Forest School education
- Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Headteacher or line manager
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children aged 4-11 in an educational or outdoor setting
- A good understanding of the role of outdoor learning in primary education and a willingness to learn more about Forest School
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external partners
- A passion for sustainability, conservation, and the natural environment
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of school life
