Behaviour Mentor (1:1 Support for KS2 Pupil) | £80-£100 per day | Immediate Start | Waltham Forest, East London

Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Mentor:

  • 1:1 Support for KS2 Pupil: Work closely with a KS2 student who displays challenging behaviour, providing consistent guidance and positive reinforcement to help them succeed in the classroom.
  • Implement Behaviour Plans: Follow personalised behaviour support strategies, tailored to the pupil's needs, and adjust as needed to promote positive interactions.
  • Promote Emotional and Social Development: Encourage the pupil's self-confidence, resilience, and social skills, helping them to engage positively with peers and teachers.
  • Work with the School Team: Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's learning and well-being.
  • Be a Positive Role Model: Demonstrate patience, understanding, and a constructive attitude, guiding the pupil towards more positive behaviour patterns.

Who We're Looking For in a Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience with Challenging Behaviour: Prior experience supporting children with behavioural challenges or social, emotional, and mental health needs is essential.
  • Empathy and Patience: A compassionate, calm approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport with the child.
  • Adaptability: A flexible attitude, able to respond to the child's changing needs and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to work effectively with school staff, the SENCO, and the child's family to create a consistent support network.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: A genuine desire to make a difference in an inclusive school setting, where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
