Job Opportunity: Behaviour Mentor Location: Tottenham, London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a reputable primary school in Tottenham. This school is easily accessible via public transport and is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for both staff and students.

Role Overview:

The chosen candidate will take on the role of Behaviour Mentor, playing a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) within the classroom. The successful applicant will have a passion for making a positive impact on student's lives and will work closely with the teaching team to ensure a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to tailor strategies that address the behavioural and emotional needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide one-to-one mentoring and small group sessions, promoting engagement and personalised learning.
  • Implement effective behaviour management techniques to create a positive and conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor student progress, offer constructive feedback to teachers and parents, and contribute to individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit the unique learning styles of each student.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar behavioural mentor role is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and the challenges that students with SEN may encounter.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and contribute to an inclusive school community.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
